Affirmative cycle support and hormone education for Trans and Non-Binary people

Your body deserves to feel like home.

Not something you feel disconnected from, isolated by and judged on.

If you’re Trans or Non-Binary, unfortunately healthcare isn’t really built with you in mind. Yet - you need it. Your hormones, your body, the menstrual cycle and your nervous system can be impacted by transition (whether or not you take HRT or have surgery).

But most of the information out there doesn’t reflect your experience, because it isn’t built with you in mind. Instead it separates physical health from your emotions and identity-based experience, or doesn’t support what it actually feels like to live in your body.

This leaves you piecing things together. At best you’re trying to interpret things on your own which can make you feel more isolated, and at worst you’re made to feel ‘different’ or ‘other’ and like you’re the problem.

You’re not at all and you deserve support that is genuinely affirmative.

What’s actually going on

Every body has rhythms and patterns, even if they don’t look like a typical menstrual cycle.

Depending on your body and where you’re at, we can still map what’s happening.

That might look like:

  • tracking a menstrual cycle (including if it’s irregular or changing on HRT)

  • mapping patterns in energy, mood and regulation over time

  • understanding how hormones are affecting your body and nervous system

  • working with changes, not trying to force consistency

This work is not about making your body into a model that doesn’t fit.

It’s understanding hormones (everyone has them!) and how they’re impacting your body and mind. I help you to increase your understanding, and build a safer, more connected relationship with your body.

Is this for you?

Yes, if you are…

  • trans or non-binary at any stage of your journey, whether or not you’re having surgery or using HRT

  • navigating HRT and trying to understand how it’s affecting your body, mood and energy

  • AFAB and wanting to work with your cycle in a way that feels supportive, while sensitively holding experiences like gender dysphoria

  • a trans woman wanting to understand your hormonal patterns and create a sense of rhythm and grounding in your body

  • a trans man adjusting to shifts between hormone systems and making sense of how your body is responding

Affirmative Approach

This work is affirmative, not just inclusive.

I’m a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, so this sits at the centre of my practice, rather than just an add on. I’ve worked in EDI for 13+ years in both large organisations and community-led spaces. I’m the Co-Founder of Manchester’s first LGBTQ+ wellbeing studio and have experience directly supporting Trans and Non-Binary clients.

I know it’s just not just a physical experience, but it’s an emotional, mental, social and political one.

My approach prioritises safety, centres your identity and helps you navigate your systems and those around you.

Robin’s Results

Robin came to me as an AFAB non-binary person navigating a big period of change - coming out, exploring their identity, and changing their name, pronouns and appearance. It was a beautiful time, but also complex.

They felt disconnected from their body, particularly their cycle, which was triggering gender dysphoria. Alongside this, they were experiencing painful periods, an unregulated nervous system and the impact of their ADHD.

We focused on understanding the biology of the menstrual cycle without gendering it, helping them make sense of what was happening in their body. From there, we introduced small, supportive changes — slower mornings, structuring workload around energy, and simple nervous system practices.

Over time, they began to feel more connected, more informed, and more able to work with their body rather than avoid it.

“Before this, I had my head in the sand about my cycle. I’d ignore it as much as I possibly could because it didn’t feel like something I wanted to engage with. Now I actually understand how much it impacts my mood, energy and day-to-day life. I’m a lot kinder to myself because of that and I don’t expect the same from myself every day anymore.”
